I was born and raised in Louisville, KY. I began my college career at the University of Kentucky where I spent 3 years studying Early Childhood Special Education before transferring to U of L and completing a degree in Theater and Humanities. I spent 16 years working in film and theater before returning to early childhood education.  I joined Hi Ho first as a sub and in extended play in 2013 and have been an official Infant room teacher since 2018.

Both of my boys went to Hi Ho through Kindergarten. I felt Highland Pres Weekday School was a magical place that resonated deeply with my beliefs about child-led learning, play and a sense of commitment to community. It was meaningful to me that my children felt like they were important members of the community at Hi Ho and that their voices mattered. I really cherish helping children feel a strong sense of self, belonging and the feeling that they are a contributing member of our village here at Hi Ho.

I believe that the foundation of a good, loving citizen begins very early—in infancy. I value the work we do here to help children build strong attachments to teachers and to each other. By learning to play side by side with others, children grow in compassion for our humanity and in accountability and responsibility to the culture—here and the greater community outside these walls.

I have 2 sons- Jacob and Moses. Both of my boys are artists who are working towards a career in film. For the past 17 years I have also worked as a labor and birth doula to educate and support families through birth and infancy. I continue to occasionally work on stage as an actor. I love to travel with my husband and family as often as I can.
