I grew up in different small towns across Kentucky and Tennessee. I moved away after
college and returned to Kentucky to pursue a law degree at the University of Louisville.
I’ve been teaching at Highland Pres. for 7 years.
I joined Highland Pres. as a teacher in 2017. I was drawn to this magical place after
sending my 3 children here for preschool and Kindergarten. I loved the emphasis on
play and how the teachers let the children guide them to their interests. It changed the
way I see children and how I approach my own parenting. I love seeing the way babies
grow into the world and discover each other.
Play teaches children life skills. It gives them opportunities to take risks and fail. It can
be challenging to find this for children in our society. Now that my children are older, I
can see how important that is. Highland Pres. values the uniqueness and individuality
of each child, while fostering empathy and compassion for others. I love being
surrounded by other teachers who believe in this same philosophy.
My husband and I have 3 children. We enjoy traveling, hiking, boating, and walking our
wild, husky-German shepherd mix. I also like to practice yoga, exercise, and attempt
home improvement.
