I am originally from a small town just outside of Baltimore, Maryland. I moved to Louisville 10 months after marrying my husband Kevin, who was born and raised in Kentucky. This year will be our 30th year living together in Kentucky and my 18th year at Highland Pres as a teacher with the Younger Toddlers.
Both of my daughters attended the Parents’ Day Out program here at Highland Presbyterian before it was merged with the Weekday School program. They loved being able to make friends, play, and feel like a part of their community. I was offered a teaching position and since I loved the program, accepted the offer. I have absolutely loved watching our program evolve into a school that is child guided and play based. I enjoy working with the younger toddlers because so much growth and development happens at this age. Even after all these years, I still learn things.
Our school’s program and our staff is ever learning and growing in the Reggio Emilia approach to early childcare. I believe it is important for everyone in our school to feel loved, heard, and like a valuable part of our community. We want everyone (including our staff) to learn and grow together.
My husband and I have two daughters and two dogs. We enjoy watching Baltimore Ravens football games and taking our dogs out walking around our neighborhood. I also like to do crafts, cook/grill, watch sports, and spend time with my family.
