Hello! My name is Hope Johnson, and I have the privilege of teaching 3-year-olds at Highland Presbyterian, a role I’ve enjoyed since 2022. I hold a degree in Psychology with a focus on Child Development from the University of Louisville, and before becoming a teacher, I worked as a social worker with the Department of Children and Family Services.
Originally from Kansas, I’ve called Louisville home for most of my life. I currently live in Shelbyville with my husband Tyler, our son Phoenix, and our golden retriever, Kylo. As a family, we love spending time outdoors, whether it’s taking walks, exploring new parks, or simply relaxing in our backyard. I’m also a huge sports fan and enjoy attending games—Roll Tide!
Highland Presbyterian is truly a magical place for both children and educators. Teaching in a Reggio-inspired environment allows me to create a classroom that is flexible, dynamic, and responsive to the unique needs and interests of each child. I am passionate about encouraging children to explore their curiosity, dive deeper into their interests, and foster their creativity.
I believe that every child deserves to be valued, supported, and empowered to take control of their learning. Through play-based, child-led learning, children naturally develop the social and emotional skills needed to grow into compassionate, successful adults. I am honored to be part of this journey with your children!
