My name is Mary Cooksey. I have been teaching in the Owls class for the last seven years. I love this age group, and I love teaching at Highland Pres. After teaching special education in public school for five years and staying home with my three children for ten years, I came to Highland Presbyterian with the intention of teaching for a year and then returning to public school. Instead, I fell in love with the school! The community of teachers, students, and their families creates a supportive and inspiring environment, and I truly love being part of it.
I have a bachelor’s degree in regular education (K-5) and special education (K-12), as well as a master’s degree in elementary education. When I’m not at work, I enjoy watching my kids participate in sports, playing pickleball, and spending time with my friends.
